Lori Harvey and Damson Idris are quickly becoming the hottest couple of 2023, and we can’t get enough of how well they complement each other. Last month ––at Harvey’s birthday party–– the pair went public, and they’ve been on everyone’s radar since.
Recently, the couple has been spotted strolling Santa Monica with Lori keeping it chic in a black Kwame Adusei bomber jacket styled over a white ribbed tank and a black satin mini skirt. Tyler Lambert’s ‘The Edge’ boots were the kind of shoe candy we needed as she stepped in unison with her new actor beau Damson Idris, who opted for a classic chalky white bomber jacket with black trousers and platform loafers.

In addition to their sporty streetwear, they both clean up exceptionally well. Serving us black-tie elegance on the red carpet for the Snowfall season 6 premiere, Lori dived into the Gucci archives for a black off-the-shoulder vintage gown styled by Elly Karamoh. She gave us Hollywood glam with a finger wave bob and statement accessories. Damson, who stars as ‘80’s drug kingpin Franklin Saint in the hit FX series,’ wore a midnight Prada suit with a white button-up shirt and black oxford shoes.

Despite how amazing Lori and Damson looked on the red carpet, it came with unsolicited social media criticism. To which Lori shut down immediately. However, more and more fans have come out critiquing the new couple’s body language and even giving the young lovers 3-4 weeks before calling it quits. Environmental and process-based changes and reconnecting with old sights, smells and feelings, he tells MusicTech about how he was drawn to making “more personal emotions and melodies.”

Maubourg’s battle with tinnitus became one of the key themes of the record. That explains the album’s title, which alludes to being unable to hear silence, as such. He says music has become one of the few ways to block out uncontrollable tinnitus, with the loud music that once caused the condition now becoming its brief bittersweet saviour.
Asides from the album’s themes, Maubourg dives deep into his favourite gear, both in Brussels and in Paris, which includes deliciously vintage synthesizers, a beloved Eventide H3000SE harmonizer and all manner of drool-worthy hardware.

Hi Tour-Maubourg. Tell us about how tinnitus tied into this record.
A few years back I developed tinnitus after listening to loud music and I still carry this hiss with me on a constant basis.
In the beginning, it felt like torture and truly made me reconsider a career in music – my main worry being, ‘what if it gets worse as I keep playing in clubs and producing music?’. My first reaction was to stop any type of loud sound from reaching my ears, so I stopped all my musical activities. As a result, the tinnitus started to take more and more space in my thoughts and I quickly realised that the precautions I was taking were only making things worse. I had to keep making music to forget its existence. Unfortunately, the tinnitus never left and I still hear it every day – except when I make music, as it gets blurred into the sounds surrounding me. For Spring 2023, Schiaparelli creative director Daniel Roseberry looked to Dante’s Inferno for inspiration. While wolf and lion heads strutted down the runway, Doja Cat sat front row in a crimson monochromatic look composed of a draping scarf, straight neck corset and a beaded knit skirt. The highlight, however, was the 30,000 red Swarovski crystals that covered every inch of her exposed skin including her head, neck, chest and arms.

After last year’s hiatus, the Golden Globes returned to Beverly Hills last Tuesday night. A-listers across film, television, and music gathered to honor 2022’s best performances. Despite Albert Hammond’s iconic 1973 lyrics, it did, in fact, rain in southern California. Gown hems were soaked, yet stars flocked to the red carpet and struck their best poses despite the downpour.
As the first red carpet to kick off 2023, the Golden Globes did not serve the kind of nonstop glamour we’d hoped to see, but there were still a few standouts that looked as golden as the award itself.
