To commemorate the 15-year anniversary of their influential debut album †, French dance icons Justice have shared a previously unreleased demo version of D.A.N.C.E., the first single taken from the record.

The demo arrives as part of the ‘D.A.N.C.E. (Extended)’ EP, compiling all the various versions and remixes of the song, out today via Ed Banger Records/Because Music and featuring remixes by the likes of Alan Braxe and Stuart Price, plus a remix by Justice themselves, named B.E.A.T.
Upon its release, the album was met with critical acclaim and nominated for a Grammy for best electronic/dance album. Justice have also released a special Gold Nugget twin LP 15th-anniversary edition of †, complete with sleeve notes written by Erol Alkan, “as he was one of the key people listening and giving us feedback when we were making this record,” said the band.
The edition also includes an art print by Cesar Sebastian of the duo’s first ever live show, at Coachella 2007. Justice announced the reissue with a post on their Facebook page, also sharing a photo of the studio in which the album was written and produced between 2005 and 2007.
“Leading up to †‘s release in 2007, and well into the next decade, tracks from this record always felt best enjoyed in high temperatures,” says Erol Alkan. “And whilst on the subject of heat, we cannot overlook how much we all love and were attracted to the sonic equivalent of heat: Distortion. While I’d also say that heat can be conveyed in a variety of ways through music, the idea of machines sounding like they were about to explode seduced our imaginations […].’†’ will remain the defining album of this particular sound, as well as that particular moment in time.”

It hasn’t been too long since Superbooth 2022 wrapped, but the music gear announcements continue with NAMM 2022 – and this year, the trade show’s Winter and Summer editions are coming together as an epic three-day event.

When is NAMM 2022?
The 2022 NAMM Show happens from 3 to 5 June at the Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California, but brands have already started dropping announcements for new music gear before the show.

NAMM 2022: Dreadbox has revealed two new effects pedals, the Treminator tremolo and Raindrops stereo delay, at NAMM 2022.

The Greek manufacturer is showing no new synthesizers this year at NAMM Show, but has decided to go back to the company’s roots in effects pedals and show us its latest work.
Firstly, Dreadbox Treminator is an expressive tremolo pedal with a multi-wave LFO built-in, letting users control the rate, fade and depth of their instrument. The LFO is the same technology used in Dreadbox’s synthesizers.
Secondly, the new Raindrops pedal is an analogue and digital hybrid effects pedal that’s all about adding true stereo delay.
This pedal contains a modulated delay which lets users control the delay with an LFO and achieve trippy takes on raw sounds. There’s also a dramatic reverb and delay combination knob, as well as a pitch delay.
The pedals follow the same look and feel as its Darkness stereo reverb, Lethargy 8-stage phase shifter and Kinematic compressor effect pedals, which were launched in March last year.
Asides from Dreadbox’s effects pedals on show at NAMM Show 2022, the company has revealed several fresh looking and sounding synthesizers in recent months. Earlier in the year, Dreadbox released the affordable Dreadbox Nymphes synthesizer and since then, at Superbooth 2022 in Berlin, it revealed the Dymesteria DIY Groovebox. There’s even rumours of a new polysynth called the Murmux.
Both of these pedals will available to buy later in 2022, with Treminator coming in at $199 and the Raindrops stereo delay costing $249.

With 52 plug-ins included at launch, Music Production Suite 5 Universal Edition includes an array of tools and exciting new technology, from creative effects and sonic shaping, to assistive mixing, vocal production, intelligent mastering, repair, and balancing. AI-powered audio assistants are on hand throughout your mix so you can stay in your creative flow.
When it comes to pricing, Neutron 4 is set at an introductory price of $299, with Music Production Suite 5 Universal Edition at $599, so you’ll have to act fast if you want to grab them at their smaller price tag.
